Shillong, Oct 13: Nongkseh came from behind twice to beat Sawmer 4-2 in the SSA Super Cup 2026 opener at SSA Stadium today and set up a semifinal clash with champions Mawlai .
Hardy Cliff Nongbri (54’, 71’) and substitute Shano Tariang (67’, 69’) scored two each for Nongkseh after Sawmer had led through Khrawkupar Tamu’s penalty (37’) and Bickyson Kharkongor’s stunner (57’).
Sawmer led 1-0 at the break before Nongkseh levelled, only to concede again to Bickyson’s wonder strike from a tight angle. Shano’s quick-fire double in two minutes turned the game, before Hardy sealed it.
Nongkseh will now face Mawlai in the first semifinal. Langsning take on Meghalaya Police in the second playoff tomorrow at 2:45pm, with the winner to meet Shillong Lajong on Saturday.
