Imphal. Oct 10: After a brief silence, a fresh orgy of violence seems to have erupted in Manipur on Saturday when unidentified militants shot dead a woman forcing the administration to impose prohibitory orders in the Kamjong district where it took place.
The incident took place on Friday night in Kuki inhibited Chassad village in the huge Naga-dominated district where Domkhonei Touthang who was a mother of 5 children was shot dead.
The attack took place hours before security forces on duty were targeted by the suspected Kuki armed groups. There was no casualty as the security personnel retaliated. As many as 10 people sustained injury during the encounter.
Meanwhile, the Kamjong district administration has imposed prohibitory restrictions within a 400-metre radius of Chassad Police Gate Junction to prevent further violence and maintain law and order.
