Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 30 : A two-day Conference on Bharatiya Bhasha Pariwar in Shillong emphasized that India’s linguistic diversity is a strength, not a weakness. Experts urged integration of languages into a unified family, stressing that “Bhashayein Anek, Bhav Ek” – many languages, one shared emotion.
Dignitaries, including Padma awardee Chamu Krishna Shastry and Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, highlighted the importance of preserving endangered languages through technology and community engagement. The conference featured research papers and talks on multilingualism, oral traditions, and linguistic preservation.
The event launched two books on Bharatiya Bhasha Pariwar, reinforcing the role of universities in promoting linguistic diversity and unity.
