Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 27: A high-level delegation comprising prominent leaders met with the Governor of Meghalaya at Raj Bhavan, here on August 26, to bring to the fore pressing concerns affecting the welfare of the people of Garo Hills, institutional functioning, and the aspirations of students and youth.
The delegation included Chakram D. Sangma, Vice President of the Post Graduate Students’ Union (PGSU), NEHU Tura Campus; Cheran Momin, Social Activist and Adviser of the Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO); and Tengku M. Marak, Advocate at the High Court of Meghalaya, Shillong.
The meeting, which lasted over an hour, was marked by a candid and serious discussion, with the Governor listening attentively to the delegation’s concerns and asking clarifying questions where necessary. The delegation’s efforts to bring these critical issues to the Governor’s attention underscore the importance of addressing the needs and aspirations of the people of Garo Hills, highlighting the ongoing dialogue between the state’s leadership and its citizens.
