Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 23: The Meghalaya Model United Nations (Meghalaya MUN) is proud to announce its 5th International Conference, a landmark event to be held in collaboration with North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Meghalaya.
This event is supported by the Government of Meghalaya through the CM Special Grant, the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, and the Meghalaya Aids Control Society.
The conference will take place at NEHU, here, from Aug 23 to Aug 25 and is set to welcome over 1000 delegates from across India and neighboring countries such as Nepal and Bhutan. This significant gathering of young minds will be addressed by Chief Guest, Mr. Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya.
The guests of Honour will be, Smt. I. Nongrang, IPS, Director General of Police, Meghalaya; Smt. Patricia Mukhim, Padma Shri Awardee and Editor of The Shillong Times; and Prof. (Dr.) Prabha Shankar Shukla, Vice Chancellor of NEHU.
The 5th International Conference promises to be an exceptional platform for youth diplomacy, with an extensive Executive Board comprising seasoned professionals with over 2500 MUN experiences collectively.
This year’s theme, “Sperare. Inspirare. Perspirare” – Dare to Dream, Achieve, and Sweat for Success, perfectly captures the spirit of this gathering. It symbolizes the resilience, ambition, and dedication required to turn dreams into reality.
The Meghalaya Model United Nations has grown exponentially over the years, establishing itself as a premier platform for young leaders to engage in diplomacy and international relations. The 2024 edition will be no exception, offering delegates a unique opportunity to hone their leadership skills, engage in meaningful debate, and build networks that transcend border.
