Shillong ( Meghalaya ), Jan 10 : The state Government will inaugurate 30 new projects during the year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations of Meghalaya’s attainment of full statehood.
CM Conrad said the year-long-celebration will begin on Jan 21 next in a somber manner due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the state.
He said only 3000 dignitaries will be able to take part at the commencement of the celebration, adding that the inauguration of the different projects will be more meaningful, if they are done properly during the year-long celebrations .
He also informed that at this juncture, there is no need to impose “lockdown” in the state.
He however, reiterated that the people should come forward to take the vaccines to protect themselves and others from being infected by the variants of Covid-19 such as Delta and Omicron virus.
