Armed robbers loot over Rs 2 .5 lakh from petrol pump in Ri Bhoi

Nongpoh ( Meghalaya), Jan 10 : In a broad daylight robbery, two masked robbers armed with AK – 47 assault rifle and pistol today, January 10 , looted around Rs.2.5 lakh from the Highway Petroleum Refilling Station at Khatsaw Mer in Byrnihat area in Ri Bhoi District of Meghalaya.

The robbers after looting the cash fled toward Sonapur area of Assam.

Speaking to the media, the manager of the petrol pump, Yadap said they appeared to be non -tribals from the region .

Police immediately rushed to the petrol pump and are investigating the matter.
