Kokrajhar ( Assam) ,Oct 14: The two-day state executive meeting of ST morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party( BJP) concluded here on Wednesday where over 400 members and delegates from 39 districts across the state participated .
The ST morcha discussed thoroughly on the upliftment and welfare of the scheduled tribes residing in the the state.
The concluding session of the BJP ST morcha was chaired by Haren Deury,president of the BJP ST morcha in the state.
Addressing the concluding session of the ST mocha meet, Sonowal said state and the central government are committed to implement all the clauses of the Bodoland Territorial Region( BTR) accord to pave way healthy development and welfare in the region.
He said that PM Narendra Modi and Union Home minister Amit Shah had initiated the BTR accord and accordingly the BTR accord was signed to solve the long pending issues faced by the Bodos.
He said BTR accord has brought the arms struggle to an end among the in Bodo belts. He appealed to all citizens from all walks of life to come forward for peace and integration building in the state.
He said that the BTR area must have the spirit of good governance as per the norms of the BTR accord .
He urged the ST morcha of BJP to work for welfare and development of the scheduled tribes across the state and to eradicate the superstitious beliefs amongst all sections of the society.
He said that BJP always thinks for equal distribution and opportunities to meet good governance in the state.
Among others, BJP national general secretary and Mongaldoi MP Dilip Saikia,Union minister of state for Food procession Rameswar Teli,Assam minister Sumo Ronghang, MLAs Padma Hazarika, Rama Kanta Deury were prominent attendees in the event.
Assam health minister ,Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the BTR accord was an inclusive solution on Bodo issues as all the four factions of the NDFB,ABSU and UBPO leaders have signed the accord.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi,Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Centre have emphasized healthy growth in the region through the historic BTR accord. He said through the BTR accord BKWAC was also formed for the Bodos residing outside the BTR in the state.He said that clauses to the BTR Bodoland are getting implemented one by one under the strict supervision of PM Modi and all the clauses will be implemented in days to come.
On the other hand, various organizations including BTR accord signatories like the ABSU,former NDFB members and civil society organizations felicitated chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the Circuit House here today .
