Shillong (Meghalaya) , Oct 9 : 1 more Covid succumbed to her infections taking the death toll to 61.
According to sources , the patient has been identified as Phlabia Sun aged 56 years . She was admitted to Civil Hospital here on Sept 25 and passed away on Thursday at 8.30 pm. The cause of her death was due to acute respiratory distress syndrome with septic shock with Covid . She was a cancer patient .
Meanwhile , 127 new cases were detected on Friday taking the state tally to 7,390 .
Among the new cases , 95 were reported from East Khasi Hills which includes 94 civilians and 1 from the Armed Forces , 8 from Ri -Bhoi which includes 6 from Armed Forces and 2 civilians , 13 from West Garo Hills , 5 from South Garo Hills , 4 from North Garo Hills , and 2 from East Jaintia Hills .
A total of 71 patients were declared recovered today .
