Shillong (Meghalaya) , Aug 18 : A total of 36 new Covid cases were detected in the state on Tuesday afternoon taking the total number of active cases in the state to 765 .
Among the new cases 24 are from East Khasi Hills District which includes 11 from BSF , 7 from Armed Forces and 6 general public .

Ri Bhoi district reported 3 cases which all general public , West Garo Hills reported 7 cases which includes 2 from BSF and 3 general public .
East Jaintia Hills and South West Garo Hills reported 1 case each and both are general public .
4 patients were discharged today after recovery taking the tally of recovered patients to 683 .
