Guwahati (Assam) , July , 23 : A total of 972 Covid cases were detected in the state on Wednesday out of which 354 cases were from Kamrup metro alone .
With this the total number of cases in the state has gone up to 27,744 out of which 9642 are active cases .
The day also saw the discharge of 1,317 patients from various hospitals after full recovery .
On Wednesday ,2 more critically ill Covid patients succumbed to their infections taking the death toll to 66.According to official sources , 54 -year -old Alok Ghosh died at the ICU of Jorhat Medical college while 47-year -old Haren Boron from Kamrup Metro passed away at the ICU of Guwahati Medical College Hospital.
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 972 new #COVID19 ve+ patients in Assam today. Out of these, 354 cases were recorded from Kamrup (Metro) alone. Stay alert, safe & healthy!”
