Guwahati (Assam) , July 23 : A lady Assam Police personnel, Puni Mech Paul died at the Assam Medical College and Hospital after being infected with Covid on Wednesday.
Late Puni Mech Paul had kidney related ailments and was admitted to the Assam Medical College and Hospital on July 19 last.
She was serving as a police constable and was posted at Namrup P S.
She is the third police personnel to have succumbed to Covid within a week .
Assam Police tweeted , “We are saddened to inform that WPC Puni Mech Paul, Namrup PS made the supreme sacrifice while fighting #COVID19.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and colleagues.
The dedication and commitment of those who passed away fighting the #CoronaVirus continues to inspire us to serve the people.”
