Guwahati (Assam) , May 25 : Another 39 positive cases were reported this afternoon in the state taking the total figure 466.
The State Health Minister in a tweet also said that majority ofthe cases reported in the state were imported from outside the state after their swabs are collected and they test positive at the quarantine centres .
The Minister tweeted at 1.15 pm 📌Alert ~ 39 new cases of #COVID19+ confirmed. All swabs were taken before they were put in quarantine. 35 Golaghat, 3 Dhemaji, 1 Nagaon.”

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in another tweet said ” all swabs are collected from people soon after they arrive from outstation.Subsequently they are transferred to the quarantine centres. Therefore most of the positive cases in Assam are imported and not home-grown!”
