Kokrajhar (Assam),Feb 20: Sensation prevails here after miscreants hurled stones at the vehicle of BTC Chief , Hagrama’s wife this evening at Ultapani along Indo – Bhutan border .
The incident occurred at around 5.30 pm this evening when Sewly Mohilary,wife of Hagrama Mohilarly along with her family were returning to Kokrajhar after offering puja at Ultapani Shivadam along the Indo-Bhutan border .
Mrs .Mohilary along with her son and family members visited the Shivadam in a Land Cruiser bearing registration no AS 16E 0009 and while returning the miscreants started pelting stones at her vehicle which has created a fear psychosis amongst the local populace in the area .
Though , there was an escort van along with her car the miscreants were successful in their mission .
Luckly ,Sewly Mohilary escaped unhurt in the attack.
According to information available , around 10 to 15 unknown miscreants started pelting stones targeting the vehicle in which Mrs. Mohilary and her family were returning back in the main road of Ultapani-Bishmuri .
An FIR has been lodged with police and they have started their investigations .
The driver of the vehicle,Gemna Mohilary said that the incident occured this evening at Ultapani.He added that the unknown miscreants started pelting stones targeting Mohilary’s family while they returning after a visit to a Shiv Mandir at Ultapani along with her family members.
Sewly Mohilary said that the incident has created a sense of insecurity among them as unknown miscreant’s started hurling stones at the vehicle .She said that the attack deliberately targeted towards Mohilary family She demanded strict action against the culprits .
BTAD IGP Anurag Agarwal,SP Rajen Singh visited Mohilary residence at Debargaon this evening after incident to take stock of the incident.
Agarwal said that strict action would be taken away against the culprits once they are identified and none of them would be spared .
Local citizens and well wishers have expressed their shock and condemned the incident and demanded stern action against the culprits .
Meanwhile ,BTC executive member and BPF leader Rajib Brahma has condemned the incident and demanded early identification of the culprits.
