Kokrajhar (Assam), Feb 11: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday paid a visit at the residence of Maharaja Ananta Roy at Chatipur, Dhaligaon in Chirang.
As Maharaja Ananta Roy, the founder of the Greater Cooch Behar People’s Association, has a special political influence in North Bengal & West Bengal., Home Minister Amit Shah, , called on him to get support from him in the forthcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.
Cooch Behar MP Nishith Pramanik, Assam Education, Finance, Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP state president Ranjit Dass accompanied the Union Minister.
Ananta Roy has informed that they discussed about political issues of Koch Rasbongshis and various demands made by the Greater Cooch Behar People’s Association .
Ananta Ray said , ‘Good days are coming for all Koch Rajbongshi community as in a meeting of BJP to be held in Koch Bihar today, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will announce a special package for all Koch Rajbongshis’.
During the visit of union minister Shah at Ananta Roy’s residence, Nirmal Roy, President, Namita Barman, Secretary, Paresh Barman, Office Secretary, Dhananjay Ray, Cultural Secretary of Greater Cooch Behar People’s Association were present.
