New Delhi, June 10: Former TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev on Wednesday said she will now work for Assam after resigning from the Upper House and meeting Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The Barak Valley leader called her exit from TMC a personal and political decision. “I thank the people of West Bengal and now I will be working for Assam,” she said.
Dev described herself as a “free woman” not involved in Bengal politics. She declined to comment on Mamata Banerjee or disclose her next move. “I am not in any party. I hope to get a chance to do politics and represent people in the future,” she said.
