Kokrajhar(Assam),Aug 9: RTI activist and central committee member of United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL) Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech has alleged that more than 180 persons have been illegally appointed illegally in various departments in Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) administration without conduct of any interview or written tests .
Addressing the reporters at a press conference held at Kokrajhar Press Club on Sunday,Dev Mech said all these illegal appointments in different departments of Bodoland Territorial Council, this year itself.
He said that over 180 persons were illegally appointed without any circular or interviews in various departments like Co -operative dept ,Soil conservation dept,health dept ,transport dept ,education dept etc .He said that all the candidates were offered appointment at various levels after offering bribes amounting to lakhs of rupees through brokers and some high ranking officials in the council.
He also alleged that former BTC Principal Secretary Robinson Mushahary and some high ranking officials were involved in offering jobs in exchange of huge sum of money.
He has demanded a thorough investigation into the scam during the BPF ruled BTAD administration and demanded punishment of the involved officials and brokers .
He alleged that genuine candidates were deprived of government jobs due to the scam perpetrated by some high ranking officials and brokers in the region for the past many years.
He urged upon the Governor of Assam Prof .J Mukhi who is now head in BTAD administration to order an inquiry into the appointment in various different departments of the council.
He said that the BTC was created to pave way for healthy administration and bringing development and welfare among the common masses in the region,but the genuine citizens have been deprived of their due rights.
Dev Merch also welcomed the termination of 29 employees of the Transport department in BTC who were reportedly appointed illegally without any interview or written tests in the transport department.
Notably,BTC Principal Secretary Siddarth Singh, on Aug 7 , in a notification vide no. BTC/MISC/ACCY(BJM)/ACS 022020/69, have terminated 8 assistant enforcement inspectors and 21 enforcement checkers under the Transport department.
He welcomed the initiative by the BTC administration into the illegal appointments in the transport department and expressed his hope that people of the region would get good administration in near future.
He said that a complaint and a case had been filed against the illegal appointments without any interview or written tests in the Transport department of BTC.
Dev Mech said that the dismissal of services of 29 employees in the Transport department only goes to prove that a proper investigation was done after a complaint was lodged .
