Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Sept 30: Lok Sabha MP and president of Gana Suraksha Party(GSP) Naba Kumar Sarania said his party Gana Suraksha Party ( GSP) will win majority of the seats in the 40 member house of the BTC Legislative Assembly in the ensuing council elections.
Addressing reporters at press conference here on Wednesday here at Bodoland Guest House ,Sarania said that his party is contesting in 35 seats in the forthcoming BTC council elections and are sure to win over 30 seats to form the next BTC council.
He said that people from all sections are extending support to the GSP for good governance in the region.
He has said that there will be no alliance with any other party during the BTC council elections as party would secure majority .
“GSP is getting majority in the ensuing BTC council elections. We are forming the next BTC council “, Sarania asserted .
He urged upon the state election commission to conduct the BTC election as soon as possible by maintaining COVID-19 protocols.
Sarania promised to bring corruption free environment in BTC and all forms of corrupt practices should come to an end in the state.
On the recent BTR accord, he said that the accord was signed only with Bodoland movement groups and not by involving other citizens or organizations those are residing in Bodoland region for ages.
He demanded the state government to make reports of CBI investigation into Lafikul Islam Ahmed murder case public and the involved culprits should be punished at any costs.
MP Sarania denied allegations made by one Dhananjay Sarania,who made allegations that he was in possession of illegal arms. He said that Dhananjay Sarania was not commander of any BTAD army . ” The allegations made by Dhananjay Sarania are all baseless “, he said .
Sarania urged the government and concerned authorities to take strict steps against the flow of illegal arms in BTC council.He also demanded rehabilitation package for the members of the NDFB as per the BTR accord .
