Kokrajhar (Assam),Dec20: Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) chief executive member Pramod Boro today declared Kokrajhar as “city of peace” in BTAD administration by planting white rose flowers and ensuring beautification across the Kokrajhar town.
While interacting with reporters here , Boro said Kokrajhar would converted to a ‘city of peace’ in BTC administration and started the process by distribution of pots of white rose plants .
“As part of peace initiative the EC resolved to provide three flower pots with white roses to all the shops in the market areas as a symbol of lasting peace in the area”,he said.
He said quality services would be provided by the BTC administration towards achieving the goal .
He also said that the elected MCLAs of the UPPL have gone to neighbouring Shillong in Meghalaya on Saturday evening for a break after the hectic BTC elections”.
He said that the UPPL BJP GSP coalition government is intact with majority and there is no fear of decreasing of numbers of MCLAs .
He said that the writ petition filed by the BPF in Guwahati High Court against the BTC government was only to create tension and there is no impact on the coalition government.
He announced that henceforth , no elected MCLAs and executive members of BTC would be permitted to go on any foreign trip without the authority of the council head.
He said that UPPL BJP GSP coalition government is fully committed to work for the welfare and development of the citizens across the region.
Boro informed that the first Executive Council(EC) of Bodoland Territorial jurisdiction held on Friday resolved to make a request to Centre and government of Assam to expedite the implementation of the various clauses of Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR) .
He also said several important decisions were taken up in the meeting for bringing good governance and welfare among the people in the council region .
The decisions included reported delays in sale of land permission and issues related to land transfers and decided to Executive Council to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for streamlining all the issues related to sale and purchase of land .
Since the BTR accord was a major step in ushering peace and prosperity in the BTR, the EC resolved to request the Centre and government of Assam to expedite the process of Accord Implementation. by holding a tripartite meeting on the matter with Govt. of India and Govt. of Assam.
The EC also resolved to request Govt. of Assam for early implementation of Arunodoi and other in schemes in BTR .
Boro further directed all officials to work with full dedication, transparency and honesty to ensure all round development of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
