Kokrajhar (Assam),Dec 20: A 12 – member core committee of Bodoland People’s Front(BPF) was formed on Sunday to work out the political strategy for upcoming 2021 Assam assembly election in the state.
The core committee is headed by BPF supremo and former BTC chief executive member Hagrama Mohilary.
The committee was announced by party chief Mohilary during the central working committee(CWC) meeting of the BPF party held at Barama in Baksa district.
The party reviewed the recently concluded BTC council elections where party emerged as the single largest with 17 seats in the 40 – member house in Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly.
Mohilary after the meeting told the media persons that the party has resolved to play the role of a strong opposition in Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly .
He also said that the party discussed on various party affairs.
He said that several senior party leader and members including ex MP Biswajit Daimary,Emmanuel Mushahary,Reoreoa Narxik have been expelled from the party .
Several ministers of Assam government representing the party,MLAs and senior BPF party leaders were present during the meeting.
Meanwhile, ex Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader Biswajit Daimary said that five more elected members from BPF are joining the BJP within few days just after the formation of the UPPL BJP GSP coalition government in Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC ) administration.
He added that more elected members from BPF are communicating with BJP party for joining and becoming part of this coalition government in the council.
He said that there would be no issue while welcoming new members if elected members join the BJP party from BPF .
On the writ petition filed by BPF in Gauhati High Court, Daimary said that the writ petition filed from BPF is only to create sensation among the party supporters and will have any influence on the alliance government.
He has denied that BPFs allegations and objections are invalid and unsuited.
He said the UPPL BJP GSP coalition government was formed as per legal provisions .
