Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Dec 21: Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) Pramod Boro today laid the foundation stone for construction of the statue of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma, , a noted social reformer at Bodoland University here .
The statue would be erected at Bodoland University complex which has a lot of contribution towards upliftment and development of the down trodden communities including Bodo community in the state of Assam.
The construction has been initiated by Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust to keep alive the ideology and philosophy of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma among the up coming generations .
Boro has said that Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma was a pioneer for social reforms who had dedicated his whole life towards the social upliftment and development through religious thoughts. He recalled contributions of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma in his whole life through the Brahma religious beliefs.
“I am very much fortunate to be part of foundation stone laying ceremony for the making of the statue of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma at Bodoland University today. We must follow the ideology and philosophy of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma “, Boro added.
Boro rupees one-crore financial support in making the statue of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma and organising various programmes from BTAD administration to propagate his philosophy .
Today Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust and Brahma Dharma Parichalana Samiti offered warm welcome and felicitations to the newly elected BTC CEM Pramod Boro with traditional Aronai .
The trust submitted a memorandum to Pramod Boro seeking financial support from the BTC administration.
Boro also visited at Mushroom incubation centre at Bodoland University and was accompanied by BTC executive members Ranjit Basumatary and Ukil Mushahary. He interacted with department head of mushroom incubation centre here on ways and means to popularize among the people .
