Kokrajhar (Assam),Feb 23: The United People’s Party, Liberal(UPPL) has demanded a through investigations into alleged mass scale corruption and anomalies in the BPF ruled BTAD administration .
They alleged that the BTAD administration has totally failed to meet hopes and aspirations of the people in the region.
While talking exclusively to South Asia Views at Bijni,UPPL president and former Rajya sabha MP UG Brahma alleged that there are huge corruption and anomalies amounting to crores of rupees in BTAD administration since 2005.
He has alleged that BPF ruled BTAD administration has failed to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people in the region.
He demand a through investigation into alleged corruptions in BTAD administration .
He was confident that the BTR accord would pave way for healthy integration amongst the society in near future.
He appealed to the rebel leaders who come overground recently for peace dialogue with the government to create a peaceful environment in the state.
He said that UPPL was getting good response from the people and they are supporting the party.
Pramod Boro,working president of UPPL and former ABSU president said that BPF ruled BTAD administration has failed to meet aspirations and hopes of the people. “Due to huge corruption and anomalies in the BTAD region,citizens are being deprived from development and welfare aspects for the last 17 years”, he added.
A through investigation and enquiry should be conducted into the allegations of huge corruption that has been perpetrated by BTAD administration in the region. People must maintain peace and tranquility amongst the society to meet welfare and development in the region,he said.
He was hopeful that the BTR accord would bring strong development and welfare initiatives in the region. In this regard he cited that direct funding would be done from centre to the BTR administration in near future.
” Existing BPF ruled BTAD administration was not working for the common people’s welfare and development”,he said adding that if UPPL party is voted to power in BTR elections,the party would take up welfare initiatives in coming days.
Boro said that the BTC elections must be conducted in free and fair manner in the region and the state government must ensure proper security measures during the forthcoming BTC elections .
The 4th annual conference of the party concluded on Saturday with a two day programme s at Bijni in Chirang district with an open session that saw huge turnout.
Over 500 leaders,members from different political parties ,organisations including former leader of Garo students union Phentom Sangma have joined the UPPL .
In the meeting,former ABSU president Pramod Boro was appointed as working president of the party.
UPPL has decided to convene a central working committee meeting on Tuesday at Mushalpur in Baksa district where party would constitute the election steering committee for the upcoming council elections.
A three member committee for drafting the election manifesto of the party was formed with BTC MCLA Rwn Gwra Narzary as chairman,Pratibha Brahma and Raju Narzary as members.The party has decided to field candidates in all the 40 seats.
A cultural rally was also held as part of the annual conference of the party which started from Lesiagaon and culminated in Bijni town .
Among others,NDFB-P general secretary S Sanjarang,chief convener of PJACBM Rakesh Boro were the prominent attendees at the event.
