Kokrajhar (Assam),Mar, 21: Considering the outbreak of COVID 19 and the scarcity of alcohol based hand sanitizer, the department of Chemistry, Kokrajhar Govt College has prepared a hand sanitizer solution following the world health organisation(WHO) formula tor common use to prevent the the spread of corona virus .
Teachers from Chemistry department of Kokrajhar Govt College has prepared a hand sanitizing solution to prevent the outbreak of Corona virus disease in the district.
In the pilot project , 15 litres of hands sanitizing solutions was prepared under the guidelines of WHO which would be distributed free of costs among the fringe areas of the college.
Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Partha Pratim Majumdar,SP Rakesh Roushan, Principal of Kokrajhar Govt College Dr Banabina Brahma launched the hands sanitizing solution at a programme held at college complex.
Dr. Brahma said that it was a humble attempt of the college to contribute something to the nation towards fighting the corona virus.
The college has also circulated leaflets on awareness building as well as the necessity to adapt certain practices during the time of corona virus epidemic.
On the other hand,the alumni association of the college has prepared paper masks to encourage people to use it during the scarcity of medicated masks among the common masses in the area.
Majumdar and Roushan appreciated the Govt College’s initiatives to produce hand sanitizing solutions during the ongoing spread of Corona virus disease in the region and added that the citizens from the area would be getting benefits through the initiative of the Govt College.
Principal of the college, Dr Banabina Brahma said that the department of Chemistry and Govt College jointly stepped up to produce hands sanitizing solution to ensure prevention of Corona virus disease among the society.

Meanwhile ,a medical team has been has been stationed at Kokrajhar railway station to check the train passengers. Nearly 300 passengers have been screened at the railway station and all have tested negative of Covid-19 virus.
