Imphal (Manipur),May 18 :Manipur recorded 624 new COVID-19 positive cases in the past twenty-four hours. The active caseload has now reached 6,605 according to the health department.
The positive cases from general population are from Imphal East (129), Imphal West (270), Thoubal (43), Bishnupur (67), Kakching (32), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (43), Chandel (18), Senapati (3). Tamenglong (2). Tengnoupal (2). Kangpokpi (2). Noney (4) and Pherzawl (2). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 20 persons succumbed to their infection . They are : aged 84 yrs (male, Imphal West), 42 yrs (male, Imphal East), 76 yrs (male,Imphal East), 75 yrs (female, Imphal West), 59 yrs (male, Imphal East), 88 yrs (female, Imphal West), 28 yrs(female, Churachandpur). 47 yrs (male, Churachandpur), 52 yrs (male, Thoubal). 73 yrs (female, Ukhrul), 44 yrs (male, Kakching), 60 yrs (female, Imphal East), 60 yrs (male, Imphal West), 38 yrs (male, Imphal East), 54 yrs (female, Imphal East), 42 yrs (male, Imphal East), 63 yrs (female, Imphal East), 52 yrs (male, ImphalWest), 63 yrs (female, Senapati) and 82 yrs (male, Imphal East) expired at Shija Hospital (6), DH Churachandpur (2),DH Thoubal (1), DH Ukhrul (1), RIMS (6) and JNIMS (4) hospital respectively. The death toll has now reached 612.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 40,683 (General Population – 36,978 and Central Security Personnel -3,705). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 33,466 (General Population – 29,929 and Central Security Personnel 3,537).The recovery rate is 82.26 %.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1364 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 521 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
As per latest information 318586 individuals have been vaccinated in the state.
