Shillong (Meghalaya), April 10: A daily labourer who was working at construction site at Mawroh here was beaten to death today in broad day light when miscreants entered the site and started beating the construction workers resulting in death one Arjun Rai (52 years) while another labourer was critically injured and has been admitted in NEIGRIHMS Hospital here.
According to information available incident had occurred at 11.55 am today.
One of the workers managed to escape from the spot.
Confirming the incident, East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi said, at around 11:15 AM, some unknown miscreants assaulted 3 labourers working at an under-construction house at Mawlai Mawroh. Due to the assault, one person identified as Arjun Ray (52 years) got severely injured and later passed away at NEIGHRIMS.
In this connection, a case is being registered and investigation is under progress to identity the culprits.
