Guwahati ( Assam) , Aug 8 : The recorded a total of 2218 new Covid cases in the state today taking the total number of cases in the state to 57,714 .
Of the cases detected today , 229 were from Kamrup Metro, 165 from Cachar , 150 from Nagaon and 142 from Dibrugarh .
The total active cases as of now stand at 18,762 after 38,809 patients have been discharged after recovery .
A total of 1782 patients were discharged today from Various hospitals and Covid Centres today .
Health Minister , Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 2218 COVID cases detected out of 54845 tests in last 24 hrs. We have managed to maintain low positivity rate (4.04%)Kamrup (M)- 299, Cachar- 165, Nagaon- 150, Dibrugarh- 142.”
