Guwahati (Assam) , Aug 25 : A total of 1973 new Covid cases were detected in the state today taking the total number of cases in the state to 94,592.
Among the new cases on detected on Tuesday , 510 are from Kamrup Metro, 121 from Kamrup Rural , 149 from Cachar , 132 from Jorhat and 116 from Dibrugarh .
8 more Covid -19 patients succumbed to their infections on Tuesday at various hospitals across the state taking the death toll to 260 .
The patents who succumbed to their infections today are Ms. Usha Das aged 70 yrs , Ms Aparna Roy aged 48 yrs , Ms.Nayana Das aged 21 yrs of Kamrup Metro ; Labanya Bhuyan aged 65 yrs of Nalbari; Masfil Hussain aged 55 yrs of Baksa; Ajay Kr Gupta aged 40 yrs of Karbi Anglong; Jhantu Deb aged 46 yrs of Golaghat and Bishnu Biswas aged 55 yrs of Majuli .
A total of 1724 patients were discharged today after recovery.
The active cases now stand at 21,239 .
