Guwahati(Assam), July 24 :A total 1,130 new Covid cases were detected on Friday , taking mounting the tally to 29,921. Out of these new cases , 417 have been reported from Guwahati while 104 cases from Cachar .
Assam Health Minister , Himanta Biswa Sarma said ,Out of 16,178 samples tested in the last 24 hours, Assam has recorded “low positivity rate of 6.98%”.
However , 6 more critically ill Covid patients succumbed to their infections on Friday taking the toll to 76 .The patients have been identified as 75 -year old Abdul Halim Laskar from Karimganj , 55 -year old Alekjan Bibi also from Karimganj, 54 -year old Sarafuddin Ahmed from Nalbari , 85- year old Pravati Das from Kamrup Metro, 60 -year old Prafulla Sharma from Kamrup Metro and 78 -year old Saroj Kr Majumdar from Kamrup Metro.
A total of 1062 patients were also discharged today from various hospitals across the state . For third day in a row, over 1000 patients have returned home and this is all thanks to our medical teams , the health minister said in a tweet
