Tura ( Meghalaya), July 15: Meghalaya police from the district of West Garo Hills yesterday recovered a sizeable amount of bomb making equipment close to the National Highway 51 near the village of Gabil.
The recovery was based on inputs provided to the police following which a team was sent to the area to conduct a search.
The search led to the recovery of 2.25 Kg gelatin sticks (Class-2, Division- 2, Cat- ZZ), 8 non-electric detonators, 8 electric detonators, 10 clippers, 2 cello tapes and 3 metres of safety fuse (Cordtex).
“It seems the miscreants were planning on making an IED. A case has been registered in the matter and further investigation is on,” said superintendent of police, WGH, Vivekananda Singh Rathore.
For now police have not made any arrests.
Further the police also made an appeal to all to inform them if they find or see anything suspicious so that any tragedy can be prevented.
