Shillong(Meghalaya), April 24: Two youths, Cleanstar Shabong (27yrs) from Nongthymmai and Gary Mawlieh (25 yrs ) from Mawlai who were arrested in connection with the Ichamati and Mawlai Mawroh cases respectively, on Tuesday were produced before the District and Sessions Court today.
The court granted 7 days for the police to further interrogate Cleanstar Shabong while 12 days were granted to interrogate Gary Mawlieh.
SP ( City), Pankaj Kumar Rasgania, in a press statement, said that Cleenstar Shabong (27) of Nongthymmai, Pohktieh, Lane-5, Shillong was arrested in connection with the killing of Sujit Dutta in Ichamati on March 27.
“Apart from this case, he ( Cleanstar Shabong ) is involved in 10 more criminal cases, out of which a charge sheet has been submitted against him in one case,” the statement said.
The satement added that investigation is being done to identify and arrest the other accused persons in the case.
Already , two youths – Shambor Shati from Wah Utim and Meshadapbor Skhembill from Saitsohpen, Sohra have been arrested in connection with the twin-murder case at Ichamati.
“Gary Rinaldy Mawlieh (25) of Mawlai Mawroh Kseh was arrested in connection with the killing of a daily wage labourer Arjun Ray in Mawroh on April 10 .Apart from this case, Mawlieh is involved in three more criminal cases, out of which charge sheets have been submitted against him in two cases”, the statement added.
It may be recalled that (L) Insan Singh and(L) Sujit Dutta were stoned to death on March 27 in Ichamati while another daily labourer (L) Arjun Ray was attacked on April 10 at Mawlai Mawroh area. He later succumbed to his injuries at NEIGRIMS here .
