Shillong (Meghalaya), April 25: In a major operation Police here have recovered 340 live anti-aircraft ammunition from a forest in South Garo Hills district on Thursday morning.
The police recovered 340 live anti-aircraft ammunition concealed inside four boxes from the jungle surrounding Chibokgre village under Chokpot police station.
According to a press note issued by the East Garo Hills SP Shailendra Bamania, based on specific inputs at around 1:15 AM today, a team led by SDPO Chokpot accompanied by CI Sadar , OC Chokpot , I/C BDDS and 3 police personnel proceeded towards area to conduct a search for the hidden ammunitions and at around 3:27 AM recovered 340 nos of Anti-Aircraft live ammunition concealed in 4 ammunition boxes from the Chibokgre jungle. The recovered items were seized by OC Chokpot at the spot in the presence of witnesses.
