Shillong (Meghalaya), June 12: Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the murder case of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, has confessed to plotting his killing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.
According to highly placed police sources, Sonam made the confession during cross-examination in front of another accused, Raj Kushwaha, her alleged lover. The police sources revealed that Sonam admitted to conspiring with Raj Kushwaha to eliminate Raja, paying him ₹50,000 to track their movements and arrange accomplices.
The murder took place near Wei Sawdong Falls, and Sonam later reappeared in Uttar Pradesh after a brief disappearance. The Meghalaya Police are working to gather more evidence, including phone chats, call records, financial transactions, and location data of all accused.
Sonam and four others have been granted 8-day police custody to aid further investigation. While Sonam has confessed to her role in the crime, Raj Kushwaha maintains his innocence.
