Shillong ( Meghalaya), May 6 : On Friday afternoon , a request was received from Mumbai Police to apprehend six absconding Nigerian Nationals, who are wanted in a murder case at Mumbai and were entering Meghalaya with the intention to flee to Bangladesh.
On receiving information, an operation to apprehend the wanted Nigerian nationals was launched by Meghalaya Police and during the operation Police managed to apprehend the Nigerian Nationals at Lad Umsaw, Ri-Bhoi while they were travelling in tourist sumo bearing registration no ML 10 B 9779.
The six Nigerian nationals are wanted in connection with Waliv Police Station CR Case Number 481/2022 under sections 302/364/201/323/143/147/149 Indian Penal Code.
It is learnt that the Nigerian Nationals after committing the offence at Mumbai were intending to cross over to Bangladesh through Dawki border.
