Shillong(Meghalaya), May 1 : Raj Bhavan, Shillong, in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture department, Meghalaya and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Shillong, today hosted a cultural event to celebrate the 64th Foundation Day of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The event was graced by the presence of Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan, as the chief guest, alongside the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Harish Chandra Chaudhary and various dignitaries and guests.
The cultural programme featured traditional music and dances representing the rich heritage and culture of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Attendees also relished a range of delicious dishes showcasing the diverse culinary traditions of both states.
Additionally, a video message from the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, was screened during the event.
It’s worth noting that the Foundation Day celebrations align with the Central government’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’initiative, focused on enhancingconnections and fostering mutual understanding among people from various States and Union Territories
