Tura(Meghalaya), July 19: Power minister, James Sangma, today met the chief minister, Conrad Sangma, along with the NPP unit of the party to push forward the case of upgradation of the Dadenggre Civil Sub Division into a full fledged district.
The demand for a separate district had earlier been raised by various civil society groups who opined the area needed to have a separate administration to bring development closer to people.
In a social media post today, James informed that “Met with the Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, along with the delegation from NPP, Dadenggre Unit, where we presented a memorandum for his consideration to upgrade Dadenggre Sub-Division to Dadenggre District.”
He added that the upgradation of the sub division into a district will immensely benefit the people of Dadenggre while also bringing the administration closer to the people.
