Shillong(Meghalaya), Dec 18 : The Nongkrem Constituency Academic Excellence Award 2021 was presented to 33 students; 26 from SSLC Examination and 7 from HSSLC Examination by Lambor Malngiang, local MLA & MDC and Chairman, Meghalaya State Planning Board, at a programme held at the Community Hall Laitkor Dorbar Pyllun here today on 18 December 18, 2021.
Lambor Malngiang congratulated the students for their tremendous efforts in clearing their respective Board Examination and bringing laurels to their families, societies and the state as a whole. He further encouraged them to pursue their career with determination and to strive for future goals.
Students being the pillars and future of the society should be encouraged to develop a sense of competition among themselves in order to enable them to increase their capabilities as well as to make them better citizens which can bring about positive contribution towards the society, he stated. Shri Malngiang thanked the parents and the teachers for their contribution and support in nurturing the students to enable them to achieve their desired goals.
Malngiang handed over mementos and cash prizes of Rs 5000 each to the awardees.
Others who were present include P T Passah, BDO Mylliem C&RD Block, R Wahlang, BDO, Mawryngkneng C&RD Block, Headmen and Sordars of villages under Nongkrem Constituency among others.
