Imphal (Manipur), May 26: Security forces posted in Manipur are fanning in the nook and corner of the Kangpokpi, Senapati districts in search of the 20 Naga and Kuki community people, who were kidnapped 15 days back by the armed groups.
Even after an intensified search operations in even the hilly terrains, there has been no breakthrough till Tuesday morning. According to information, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Manipur Police have been carrying the search operation.
Sources here say the entire combing search operation is concentration on some vulnerable pockets in Leilon Vaiphei, Songtun, Khunkho in Kangpokpi district where a section of civilians is believed to have been kept in captivity.
Another joint operation is cordoning off a huge area in the Senapati district and adjoining areas in search of the civilians.
Notably, out of around 50, armed groups have freed 30 people belonging to both Naga and Kuki community civilians in Kangpokpi district. Some of these were freed in Senapati district on May 13 and 14.
On the other hand, the Manipur Government has urged armed groups to release the civilians on humanitarian ground.
