Dimapur (Nagaland), June 8: The Mokokchung police has busted inter-district vehicle lifters and arrested seven persons in this connection while 10 vehicles including two Motorcycles were recovered.
According to Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, , a person was arrested recently at Aongza ward, Mokokchung, who was trying to flee away with a stolen motorcycle, and in this connection, a case was registered.
The SP said that on thorough investigation, the “chain of events” and “modus operandi” committed by the car lifters was detected through “different ways” and means by the investigating team and accordingly four more co-accused were arrested from Wokha district with assistance from DEF Wokha while two were arrested from Mokokchung.
SP, Mokokchung, also said that out of the 10 vehicles, eight vehicles and a motorcycle were recovered from Wokha while another motorcycle was recovered from Mokokchung.
Further, SP, Mokokchung, informed that in this connection, several cases had been registered under Police Station-I and Police Station-II, Mokokchung, and follow up investigation is on.
Meanwhile, the seven accused have been identified as Nzubemo (29), Myanthung (27), Nchumbemo (27),residents of Chukitong, Wokha, Amos (41) and Phyobemo (34), residents of Tsumang ‘A’ Colony, Wokha, and Pongidong, Wokha, respectively, Kumar Chetri (35), resident of Aongza Ward, Mokokchung, and Imnalemba (28), a resident of Artang Ward, Mokokchung.
