Shillong (Meghalaya) , Feb 26 : Shillong may soon have a Commissionerate of Police as a proposal made by the police headquarters is under consideration by the government.
According to sources , the Commissionerate of Police will be of the rank of a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and will be assisted by four SPs .

According to information available , there could be SPs for metro, rural and traffic besides others under the Commissionerate of Police.
The proposal is presently with the department of Home .
