Kokrajhar (Assam),Dec 3 : The District administration here is fully prepared to hold the BTC council elections scheduled on Dec 10 for five constituencies under Kokrajhar Sadar sub-division in Kokrajhar district.
Addressing the reporters at a press conference held at DC office conference hall today, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner and district election officer, Bhaskar Phukan said that the district administration is fully prepared to conduct the council elections uvder Kokrajhar Sadar sub-division.
The five constituencies include Fakiragram(70497 voters),Banargaon(54648 voters),Debargson(63009 voters),Baukhungri(46238 voters) and Salakati(50758 voters) constituency.
Phukan said that there will 390 polling stations under Kokrajhar subdivision, out of which 109 are safe polling stations ,170 sensitive polling stations and 102 polling stations very sensitive.
Phukan said that district administration has already deployed strict security vigil across the constituencies under Kokrajhar subdivision.
He said that district administration has taken necessary steps to ensure a conducive environment during the council elections and each and every polling stations would be properly sanitized combat any threat from Covid pandemic .
The DEO informed that inter state border with West Bengal and international border with Bhutan would be under strict observation during the council elections.
