Shillong(Meghalaya ), Aug15: State Home minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Sunday resigned as the Home minister after Shillong witnessed violent incidents on Sunday .
According to highly placed sources his resignation as the home minister has been accepted by the government .

In fact , total curfew has been imposed in the Shillong city after there were reports of violence after the funeral of the former General Secretary of the HNLC , C . Thangkiew who was killed by the security forces .
Earlier , there was a demand from various quarters for the resignation of the Home Minister after the former militant was killed by the security forces .
