Shillong ( Meghalaya ) , Aug 15 : Due to sudden deteriorating of law and order situation in Shillong and adjoining areas all of a sudden, the government has imposed ban on mobile internet/data services for the next 48 hours effective from 6 PM today (August 15) in four districts of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
Due to sudden breakdown of law & order in parts of Shillong City, the District Magistrate , East Khasi Hills , Ms . Iswanda Laloo has also promulgated curfew in Shillong from 8 pm today.
According to police a black Scorpio, with weapons in it, bearing registration number ML05-F- 3013 was stolen by unidentified youths from Mawlai Mawkynroh. The youth are taking the vehicle for a ride and brandishing the weapons.
Earlier, on Saturday evening . stones were pelted at a vehicle used by a police patrolling team .
Though, nobody was injured in the incident which occurred at Jaiaw Pdeng, the windshield of the vehicle was broken.
A helmet and a bulletproof vest of the police were found lying on the road.
