Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 19 : The government here today confirmed that Shillong , Tikrilia and Phulbari are under the grip of community spread of Covid 19 .
As of 3pm on Wednesday 28 cases have been detected through random sampling via the rapid antigen test in Shillong.
This was confirmed by the Director of Health Services, Dr Aman Warr.
The areas in Shillong where the fresh 28 cases have been detected are Anjalee Cinema Hall area : 9 cases , Khlieh lew: 9 cases , Mothpran: 7 cases and Khyndailad (Police Bazar) : 3 cases .
A total of 78 new Covid cases were detected on Wednesday , taking the total number of cases in the state to 1535 . The active cases as of now stand at 804.
So far 6 persons have died in the state due to Covid 19 .
