Shillong (Meghalaya), Sept 1 : 72 fresh Covid cases were detected in the state today taking the total number of cases to 2440.
The active cases ,however , stand at 1193 .
Among the new cases East Khasi Hills district reported 54 cases were reported which includes 2 from BSF,2 Armed Forces and 50 general public .
West Garo Hills reported 7 cases which includes 3 from BSF and 4 general public .

East Garo Hills reported 4 cases and all are general public .
Ri -Bhoi District reported 5 cases , all general public and South Garo Hills reported 2 cases ( general public).
A total of 73 patients were discharged today after full recovery .
