Shillong (Meghalaya ) , June 7 : 2 more cases of Covid -19 were detected in East Khasi Hills district of the state on Sunday taking the total number of cases to 36 .
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said both the patients are returnees from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra and are quarantine in East Khasi Hills district of the state .
The total active cases now stand at 22 after 13 patients were released after they fully recovered while the 1st reported case died .
The Chief Minister tweeted on Sunday evening , ” Two more residents who came from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have tested Covid positive for Covid -19 . Both of them are under quarantine in East Khasi Hills District . Total Positive cases : 36, Total Active cases 22, Total Recovered 13 , Total Deceased 1 .”
