Shillong ( Meghalaya) , Feb 8 : After the sudden increase of Covid cases in the state a – one -month-old baby girl succumbed to her infections on Sunday .
According to official sources the baby girl was born to Risuklin Kharkongor of Jyntah village, East Khasi Hills.
Both mother and baby tested positive for Covid after their admission to Ganesh Das Hospital here on Feb 5 last .
The baby passed away on Sunday morning due to febrile convulsion.
Meanwhile , one fresh Covid cases was reported in East Khasi Hills District of the state while three patients were declared recovered today .
The total cases as of now in the state stand at 13, 886 with 134 active cases after a total of 13, 604 patients were declared recovered . The death toll stands at 148 .
