Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 11: Mawlai SC stamped their authority on the Meghalaya State League 2024 with a resounding 8-0 victory over Khliehmawlieh in their quarterfinal clash at the SSA Stadium here today, securing their spot in the semifinals.
In another thrilling encounter, Ladthadlaboh staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Sutnga 5-2 in the Jaintia Hills Derby at Diengshynrum, Khliehriat. This win marked the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the tournament.
Sutnga took the lead in the 13th minute through Raplangki Lyngdoh, but Ladthadlaboh equalized just before halftime courtesy of Rangdajied Sayoo’s 36th-minute strike.
Shillong Lajong had already secured their semifinal berth by defeating reigning champions Rangdajied United 3-1 in the first quarterfinal last week.
