Shillong ( Meghalaya), Jan 7 : NPP MDC Lamphrang Blah was elected as the new chairman of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Monday, January , 7, 2022 .
The election of the NPP MDC of Mawphlang Diengiei , Lamphrang Blah ,as the new chairman unopposed, was announced by the Deputy Chairman Alvin Sawkmie during a special session today.
The election of chairman of KHADC will be held today following the resignation of Pyniaid Sing Syiem from the post on Jan 31 last .
After the announcement , Lamphrang Blah thanked all the members of the House for their faith and confidence on him .
Chief Minister , Conrad Sangma also sent his best wishes to Blah on being appointed as Chairman of the KHADC .
Earlier on Friday , KHADC, CEM T Chyne announced that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) of the KHADC had unanimously decided to nominate senior NPP MDC Lamphrang Blah as the candidate for the chairman post.
