Shillong ( Meghalaya ), Feb 7 : The Chief Executive Member of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC ) , T. Chyne along with other MDCs today met the Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma at the Main Secretariat here and sought clarification from him on the words “Village Council” mentioned in the proposal to be sent to the government recommending the amendment of the sixth schedule of the Constitution.
Speaking with the media, KHADC, CEM Chyne said, ”In Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, we do have the Village Dorbar , may be they have Village Council in Garo Hills”.
He also informed that during the discussion with the Chief Minister, he was told that the state Government will soon release an amount of Rs.60 crores to the KHADC to meet its financial requirements .
