Shillong (Meghalaya), Sept 3 : The Centre for Development of the North Eastern Region (CeDNER),IIM Shillong, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, is offering a 40-hour weekend online certificate course for aspiring North Eastern Region women entrepreneurs. The course commenced from today , Sept 3 and will continue till Sept 16 conducting every Saturday and Sunday.
Dr. Sanjeev Ningombam, Convener of CeDNER, IIM Shillong highlighted the initiatives taken under CeDNER on the areas of promoting livelihood, entrepreneurship, community development etc. He outlined the design and structure of the course.
Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Secretary of National Commission for Women on his inaugural address mentioned various initiatives taken by NCW for development of women of India. This course is aimed at motivating women of north east to take up entrepreneurship and to train business models, tools and strategies.
Ms . Kanchan Khattar, Legal Advisor of NCW mentioned about the special interest PM Modi ’s vision of empowering women of India. She encouraged participants to make the best benefit from this course that is offered from the best B-School of the region.
The course will have sessions of Organisation Behaviour, Marketing strategies, Innovation, Startups, raising finance, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Business models, Experiential learning, Case studies etc. The course will be taught by experienced faculty of IIM Shillong and Successful women entrepreneurs of North East.
The Certification Program for Women will offer personal and professional development opportunities with a focus on management practices, growth opportunities, the development of effective leadership skills, and support through formal mentoring on the business idea and peer networking.
The Centre for Development of North Eastern Region (CeDNER) formerly known as The Accelerated Learning Centre (ALC), of the Indian Institute of Management Shillong has been constituted right from the inception of the Institute and is involved in organizing both short term and long-term programmes relevant to the local community and society of the state and the region.
